Ben Orpwood is Executive Chef of upcoming Leeds rooftop restaurant, Issho, where he will be cooking the modern yet authentic Japanese food which has made his name. He initially joined Zuma as a Chef de Partie way back in 2005, working on the launch of the brand’s Istanbul and Dubai outposts before spending five years in the best kitchens in Sydney. He returned to London in 2015 to work as Executive Chef of celeb-favourite Sexy Fish before moving back to Zuma as Executive Chef, prior to heading up Issho.
Ben is on a mission to bring something a bit different to the Leeds dining scene, putting an eastern twist on the best of Yorkshire produce with his Japanese and pan-Asian cooking. He describes Issho’s menu as fresh, interesting and delicious and it’s set to include some show-stopping sharing dishes.
